SalsaJ is an intuitive application designed to edit and analyze astronomical images. It is particularly adapted to professional astronomy images and was designed to be used in classrooms. The application opens TIFF (uncompressed), GIF, JPEG, BMP and FITS images. It also opens lookup tables and selections (ROIs). In addition, the File/Import submenu provides access to plugins for reading "raw" files, images in ASCII format, and for loading images over the network using a URL.An astronomical image viewer and editor
